2015: AKPABIO'S HYPOCRISY REVEALED!
…RENOUNCED CULTISM IN THE MORNING IN WINNERS CHAPEL,
- MEETS 100 CULTISTS IN THE NIGHT SAME DAY
- …THREE PERSONS SHOT DEAD IN THE AFTERMATH OF MEETING
As the race for who occupies the Hiltop Mansion (seat of Akwa Ibom State Government) in 2015 continues, the State Governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio has been caught in a web of hypocrisy in his determined effort to fool Akwa Ibom State people and deceive them to support his unrelenting agenda of imposing his Secretary to Government, Udom Emmanuel as Governor of Akwa Ibom State in 2015.The venue and event of Akpabio’s hypocrisy was Winners Chapel, Ikot Ebido in Uyo on Sunday May 26, 2014 to mark this year’s Democracy Day. Akpabio who in recent times has engaged in all manner of theatrics to achieve his 2015 agenda knelt down in the house of God to denounce his involvement and that of his administration in cultism. But no sooner had he left the presence of God that Akpabio held a nocturnal meeting with select leaders of the Supreme Council of Akwa Ibom State Youth Leaders (A conglomerate of various cult groups in Akwa Ibom State) led by the self acclaimed supreme leader and current Chairman of Etinan Local Government Council, Isantim Kenneth Okon (Wayas) and Otuekong Nse Essien (Indo), Secretary of Onna Local Government Council as Deputy Supreme Leader.
Governor Akpabio during the meeting praised the group for the support they have given his administration in the last seven years. He said that there would not have been peace in Akwa Ibom State if not for the roles of the various cult groups.
An inside source at the meeting who spoke to our reporter noted that these were the same cult groups who dared the former Governor, Obong Victor Attah over Akpabio’s nomination in 2006, but were neglected and dumped as soon as Akpabio became Governor. According to the source, Akpabio pleaded with the select cult leaders representing various cult groups to support him in his quest to enthrone Udom Emmanuel as Governor of Akwa Ibom State in 2015.
Betraying a sense of desperation, Akpabio told these leaders who numbered about 100 that they should see themselves as his hit men and be ready to hunt down any perceived opponent to his 2015 agenda. He used the occasion to rain curses on Umana Umana while owning up on the recent claim by Umana that it was Akpabio who invited him to the presidential lodge and urged him to prepare to take over from him in 2015. A claim that both Akpabio and his media propagandists had publicly denied in the past. Boosting his ego further, Akpabio informed his audience, “I wanted to handover to Umana as my personal friend, but later discovered that I was being beclouded by the sentiments of our friendship”.
According to Akpabio, “I introduced Umana Umana to Nigeria’s first family in Abuja for the Managing Directorship of NDDC. But the likes of Nelson Effiong, the former Speaker told him to reject the offer and declare for Governor. So I told my friend Umana to resign since he had declared his intention to contest. I was still in Abuja when I received security reports that Umana’s office was going to be vandalized, so I sent security operatives to seal the office. Governor Akpabio who did not explain how the heavily secured Government House where Umana’s office is situated could have been burgled explained further that equity prevailed on him to turn his back against his earlier promise of handing over power to Umana. Akpabio also complained bitterly to his assembly of cultist that Umana had opened an office in Abuja where he is busy writing petitions against him, and also buying houses for top power brokers in Abuja simply because he wants to curry favour.
To demonstrate his determination of partnering with the cultist, Akpabio announced the appointment of 8 Special Assistants from among the select leaders of cult groups and paid the sum of N50 Million as transport to each of them as they went home with N500, 000.00 each. But the supreme leader and his deputy got N10 Million each the elated Akpabio.
The Governor used the occasion of the meeting to shed more light on why he fired his bosom friend, Umana Umana, his self professed son, BasseyAlbert Akpan and long time follower, Effiong Abia. According to the Governor, “I fired Umana because he embarrassed me by rejecting the NDDC job. I fired Albert because he was going to outsmart me by resigning. For Effiong Abia, I fired him because he brought down Udom Emmanuel’s poster and billboards in Oron during my town hall meeting”.
Speaking further on his estranged son, Akpabio said that Albert was a brilliant, young and handsome man, who dresses, speaks and conducts himself with the decency and decorum required of a Governor, but he Akpabio was only ensuring that justice and equity is extended to Eket senatorial district. Akpabio announced that he will set up a small committee of the leaders of the various groups to plead with Albert to consider the fact that age was on his side and that he (Akpabio) was ready to negotiate power with Albert and also make him a minister in the next dispensation should he abandon his governorship ambition. He also promised to appoint Effiong Abia a permanent secretary if he rescinds his governorship quest as well and comes back to the fold.
But a leading leader of one of the groups who spoke to our reporter said that Akpabio had long lost the trust of the people who made him Governor. According to him, why would it take the Governor 7 years to remember the people who risked their lives and future to make him Governor. What will being a Governor’s Aide in less than 11 months fetch a man who had been deliberately disempowered compared to what the Akpabio’s have amazed. “Does he think we are fools,” the leader complained.
Another leader of the group noted that because of Akpabio’s penchant for lies and deceit, he has forgotten that he had promised the people of Oron the same ministerial slot he is promising Albert should they drop their agitation for governorship. In his words, what Akpabio has failed to understand is that he has lied to the people to the extent that he sees himself as having conquered the people, but unkown to him, it is the people that have conquered him because the people no longer believe nor trust him as a leader. To demonstrate his conquest, it was only Akpabio’s family members and his Essien Udim brothers that were allowed to witness the meeting. They include, Emem Akpabio, Ibanga Akpabio, Prince Akpabio, member representing Essien Udim in the State House of Assembly, Emmanuel Akpan and the Chairman of Essien Udim, Nse Ntuen. That is the kind of leader the Governor made up of,” he concluded.
Speaking to our reporter on these latest developments, a prominent man of God who was shocked at Akpabio’s profanity said, “If it was in the Bible times that God manifested Himself readily, Akpabio would have been struck by God while kneeling down in that church. It is unbelievable that the Governor would deceive himself in the morning that he was not a cultist and has never had anything to do with cultist, yet in the night of God’s Holy day being Sunday, Akpabio meet cult groups. Who is he fooling? Oh! God is patient, but I know too well that Akpabio’s day are numbered and the God I worship will avenge such profanity by a man whom God showered his benevolence and raised him from rags to riches.”
The General Overseer of a Pentecostal Church who also spoke to our reporter said that it was most unfortunate that Akpabio would allow his quest for power destroy his relationship with God. He noted that God had left Akpabio the same way he left Saul the king of Israel. He likened Akpabio’s quest for power titles in Abuja to Saul’s consulting the dead. It is a matter of time for God to reveal Himself to Akpabio that He remains the same God Who made him Governor in 2007. And I can tell you, God had long ordained a David for Akwa Ibom State, that is why Akpabio is engaging in this naked dance that we read everyday.
Meanwhile, a cult war has broken out in Akwa Ibom State as a result of Akpabio’s meeting with cultists on Sunday, May 26, 2014. As at the time of filling this report, three persons have been reported shot dead yesterday (May, 26, 2014) around Central Supermarket on Oron Road, Uyo. Eye witnesses said that that the assassins drove in a white Hilux Vehicle presumably to be owned by Akwa Ibom State Government.
